OSHA Proposes New Rules for Crane Operators

Proposed changes to the Crane and Derricks construction standard, would amp up training requirements where employers would have to evaluate crane operators, regardless of their previous licenses or third-party evaluations. The days of grandfathers certifications may be over, however it will provide the employer the opportunity to train their new operators in how they would like them to operate, and potentially eradicate bad old habits.
